Tess Levitan - President

Biography:

Tess is a senior advertising and TexasMedia student with a passion for digital strategy and innovation. Tess has internship experience ranging from New Business to Account Management at agencies ranging from GSD&M in Austin to Engine Company One, a small creative shop in San Francisco. Tess really enjoys taking on new challenges and surpassing expectations. She is very excited to lead Texas Advertising Group this year and hopes to help students not only better connect with professionals, but also with each other.

 

Elana Black - Director of Industry Relations

Biography:

Elana is a third-year advertising student in the creative sequence at UT. She is an art director, and has a background in photography and graphic design. In 2011, she served as TAG's resume book chair, and is excited for her new role in 2012 as director of industry relations. Elana was born in Minneapolis, MN, grew up in Albuquerque, NM and now lives in Denver, CO. She's ready to take on a new city when she graduates in May 2013, and is especially interested in moving to Chicago, San Francisco or New York. Elana is an ambitious, enthusiastic and hard working student who has her eyes set on a bright future in the advertising world.

Biography:

Casey is a junior at the University of Texas studying Advertising and receiving the Business Foundations Certificate. Casey has been involved in TAG since her freshman year and has loved learning about all of the different aspects within the world of advertising. She is also the Director of Account Services within TAGlines and will become Director of TAGlines in the following year. Casey is looking to pursue a career in Account Management upon graduation. Outside of advertising, Casey loves cheering for Boston sports, attending concerts, and going to the movies.


Jordan Bustin - Assistant Executive of Special Events

Biography:

Jordan Bustin is a second year advertising student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Advertising, along with a concentration in Business Foundations. With a passion for advertising and the sports industry, Jordan hopes to one day land a job combining these two interests. She has been able to further her knowledge of the account services role through her internship at The Marketing Arm as well as through her position as Account Services Associate for the student-branding agency at UT, TAGlines. Aside from advertising, Jordan also enjoys hanging out with her Alpha Phi sorority sisters, baking delicious brownies, enjoying the Austin food and music scene, and watching the Longhorns dominate every sport they play.

 

Ben Olins - Chief Financial Officer

Biography:

After sitting through his first TAG meeting as a green-eyed, freshman, film major Ben approached the president at the time to introduce himself. She promptly told him to run for an officer position. Bewildered at the prospect, though eager nonetheless, Ben showed up to the next meeting and ran for the position of Volunteer Coordinator, which by some stroke of luck, he won. Now over a year later, Ben is a sophomore Advertising major, and TAG's Chief Financial Officer. This surprises him still, even as he writes this. Ben is passionate about writing, reading, music, film, and coffee. This winter break, he wrote a play. He is excited for all the opportunities the next year will hold, and wants you to email any CFO related questions you may have to cfo@texasadgroup.com

 

Andrea Hamann - Creative Director

Biography:

Andrea is a third year Advertising student in the Texas Creative program at The University of Texas at Austin. After working in a screen-printing shop in her hometown of McAllen, TX, she realized that a creative career in advertising was something she wanted to pursue. She’s currently interning in the University Union’s advertising department designing promotional materials for the Student Events Center. When she’s not busy with work or school, Andrea likes to spend time with her friends and explore Austin.

 

Jessica Chung - Social Chair

Biography:

Jessica Chung is a third year psychology and public relations student with a strong passion for advertising. She is also in the Plan I Liberal Arts Honors and Senior Fellows programs, and pursuing the Business Foundations program as well. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and Houston, Texas, she is Southern at heart but would like to move to California upon graduation to work in marketing, advertising, or research development for the entertainment industry. She is an avid food lover, and is always trying new recipes and new places to eat in Austin. When she's not studying or cooking, Jessica dances on hip-hop dance teams and is active in the Houston hip-hop dance community.

 

Michelle Humphrey - Volunteer Coordinator

Biography:

Michelle Humphrey is a third year student at the University of Texas at Austin and will be graduating in May 2013. Growing up, she could be found with her nose in a book, a pencil in her hand or with a tour guide brochure in front of her. Her extensive travels and recent study abroad in London have made her globally aware and well-rounded. Serving as her high school's yearbook editor convinced her to continue fostering her creativity in college. So, it was only a natural fit for her to go into advertising, where she especially enjoys studying consumer behavior, writing and presenting. She was recently elected as the TAG volunteer coordinator and looks forward to making a difference in TAG as well as building relationships between TAGers and the surrounding advertising industry.

 

Alyssa Doffing - Secretary

Biography:

Alyssa Doffing is a fourth year Advertising student in the Texas Media sequence. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, but got to Texas as fast as she could. After taking a design class in high school, she knew that a career in advertising was what she wanted. When Alyssa is not studying or working she likes to read memoirs, watch trashy televisions shows, and enjoy the Austin nightlife with friends.


Jacqui Bontke - Resume Book Chair

Biography:

Jacqui is a second year Advertising major from Houston, TX. She is currently pursuing a minor in Spanish and a Business Foundations certificate. Jacqui is an enthusiastic student and dedicated worker. She also has ambitions to work in the creative side of the advertising industry. She loves attending the University of Texas at Austin for its artistic energy and exciting opportunities. Jacqui is excited to serve as the Resume Book Chair this year because she has a love for layout and design, and the Resume book is one of her favorite opportunities TAG has to offer. In her free time, Jacqui enjoys photography, graphic design, Longhorn football, exploring Austin and the Texas hill country, and serving the community and socializing with Texas Spirits.

Biography:

Becky, or Chung Ting, is a senior advertising student in the Texas Creative Sequence and Business Foundations Program. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she came to Texas 4 years ago and is happy to call Austin home for the past 3 years. She enjoyed the time she spent serving TAG as the Assistant Executive of Special Events last year and is glad to be the Chief Technology Officer this year.
